Lions 2011 Luminary Project Report

The Brandon Lions Club Lions 2011 Luminary Project result are complete.
Many thanks to Luminary Project Chairman Lion Adam Buzbee, Lion Bo Hurley, Lion Fred Brown, and Lion Wayne McDaniel for their efforts in our Luminaries Fundraising project. Also thanks to the many Lions and Leos who helped in preparation of the kits.
Inside where the kits were being put together, an assembly line of dedicated LEO’s worked from 8:30 to 11:30 without any break. They didn’t even eat any of the donuts that were available. Lion Joe Kuebler reported procedes of over $1700 on the Luminaries Fundraising project. “That shows you what can be done.”
Lions Hear Crime Prevention Consultant

From Lion Art Schmidt:
Crime Prevention Consultant Louis Piche presented an hour long talk at our January 5th meeting on the many ways we can deter burglary entries, purse snatching, & ways we can use a spray to counteract the burglary & criminal act.
He said by doing simple things that to deter a burglary/thefts, we can be safer in many ways. Putting screws in the top of sliding glass doors deters the entrance of burglary. Keeping you car keys & any ID cards (such as Credit Cards, drivers license) separate from your purse when leaving a store will minimize a theft. Using a D ring attached to your purse & shopping cart in a store minimizes a potential theft.
When going to your vehicle, you should look in the back seat as well as the back end of a vehicle for feet that might be visible of a person lurking to do a criminal act.
Never leave your garage door opened at any time & be careful on keeping the garage door emergency cord away from being accessible of a broken window.

Shot, edited, written & narrated by Peter Musurlian, this news report features a Lions In Sight vision clinic in Mexico. The mini-documentary, first aired in late September 2010, was a collaborative effort between Globalist Films & BTV6, the City of Burbank’s government access channel, now called, “The Burbank Channel.”

2011 Lions Foster Children Christmas Party

2011 Brandon Lions Annual Foster Children Christmas Party
The 2011 Brandon Lions Annual Foster Children Christmas Party was held at the Brandon Lions Club House on December 10, 2011. Lions Pati Adolphie, Mike Buytas, along with many of her relations worked diligently decorating the inside and outside of the Club House. When they finished it was something everyone needed to see and all remarked how well it was done. Every corner had a Christmas object displayed as well as the many objects throughout the inside. Outside was just as fabulous with the lights & decorations. Thank you Lion Pati for chairing the decorating committee.
There were 23 foster children in attendance and each received 2 toys. About 10 Lions helped with every thing & enjoyed being with the children. There were 10 Rough Riders distributing Teddy Bears and beads to everyone. They really made everyone Continue reading this post…
2011 Luminary Project Kits Work Party
Brandon Lions 2011 Luminary Project Kits

About 600 Luminary Project kits were assembled on December 10, an ideal temperature day at the Brandon Lions Den Club House. With help from the Newsome & Bloomingdale Leo Clubs, the Brandon Lions completed the task about 1:15 PM after starting at 8:30 AM.
While the Crews outside were doing their backbreaking work, the inside assembly crews were working just as hard assembling the kits. Production line techniques were employed and the Leo’s were “right with it”. Even Lion John Elliot became the “clean up” man picking up all of our empty boxes and making more Continue reading this post…
Luminaria
We still have neighborhoods on the fence and have not placed orders. I am contacting weekly trying to get updates from them. Currently have 425 ordered.
It has become necessary to push back the assembly date. Lion Fred was right and I attempted to schedule assembly too early. I should have listened to his advice.
New assembly date will be December 3rd and delivery date will be December 4th or December 10th depending on the availability of our Volunteer Driver from Penske Truck Rentals.
I would like to thank Lions Joe K, Mike & Bo for responding and offering to assist making calls to past customers. Hopefully they will increase our sales.
If you intend to order please do so now!!!!!
Thank you
Adam
